Clicking For Cancer

I often see GoFundMe pages that are set up by cancer patients seeking financial help to fight their cancer. I always want to give but I am unable. In fact, I should be setting up one of those pages myself but I haven’t as of yet. My point is, we all want to help but cannot always help financially. So, what can we do? Well, I have good news. We can all support cancer patients by “Clicking For Cancer”. πŸ˜€Β  Let me give you an idea of what I mean.

Clicking For Cancer

That’s a cool idea right? Clicking For Cancer! πŸ˜€Β  It’s easy. Just do what you can with your computer and people will be so thankful that you did. We can’t all give money, participate in fundraisers or share our valuable time. In fact, so many of us are so busy we cannot give at all. Then we sit at home and feel bad. No need for that. πŸ˜€Β  Just do what you can! Here are some ideas.

Net Cancer Awareness Day Is November 10th

Yup, I have Carcinoid Cancer which is a subset of Neuroendocrine Cancer. Now, you may not have heard about it BUT that’s why we have a day set aside just for raising awareness. That day is November 10th. If you see somebody wearing zebra stripes on November 10th then they are probably wearing those stripes for us! They are raising awareness for us. πŸ™‚Β  Now, you don’t need to wear stripes but you can put them on your web page or on your Facebook page or anywhere you use the computer. I wrote a few short blog posts on this. Read More and Read More.Β  Joining in on an awareness program is a great idea and you can do it while sitting in front of your computer! See! Clicking For Cancer!

Share Your Friend’s Crowd Funding Pages

You probably already know this but Crowd Funding is when people share their story in hopes of getting financial assistance. I have so many friends who do this. πŸ™‚ I really should do it too! A good example is GoFundMe but there are others.

We kicked this around a little bit about this already but this is a great way to help cancer patients from your computer. If you are on social media just Retweet their posts orΒ  like and share their posts. It doesn’t take much effort and you might really help somebody out. Think about what would happen if everyone who is friendly with somebody who has cancer did this. That persons would get so many more people looking at the crowd funding page…and maybe…a little help. So, this is a good way to be Clicking For Cancer! πŸ™‚

Email Signatures

carcinoidcancerbadgeOK, I know this is a little “old school” but still…people see these things and really ifyou have a link in there you can do quite a bit of good. You can link to awareness campaigns, crowd funding pages and more. You can even just drop a graphical emblem like this into your signature. It does a lot. πŸ™‚ If you save your signature, then every time you send an email whatever you put into your signature will be included at the end of the email. I think it’s an easy way to be Clicking for Cancer. What do you think? You can even embed a picture of the person you are trying to help in the signature. Imagine how much help that might render. πŸ™‚

Blogs

Hey! Now, this is an idea that I can get on board with. πŸ˜›Β  When I first started my blog it was really an effort to educate myself and also others. I used it as a little diary of sorts. I wrote what I learned and passed it all on in the form of blog posts. I have found that over time, my emphasis has switched. I know write for the benefit of others first and also for myself. To be honest, I never expected so many people to read my blog but, as they say, “It is what it is!” πŸ˜€Β  Now, when I post something I am always thinking of others….will it help somebody….will this explain something so everyone gets it…and so on. It’s a blessing to be truthful. At the top of my blog you will see a “Links” selection. It brings you to tons of links to other blogs, resources and so on. My way of Clicking for Cancer. πŸ™‚

Support Their Own Efforts to generate income

Many cancer patients have small online businesses that they use to help pay for their cancer treatments. It’s always nice to share those links or, if you can, purchase an item for yourself or a friend. Not everyone is comfortable asking the public for money either in person or on the Internet. So, often they start businesses. Some do both.

Clicking For Cancer Casually

Yes, I am trying to make a tongue twister. πŸ˜€Β  Here’s what I like about this idea. You see, cancer is emotionally charged. Often, when you see a person that needs help we don’t respond and then walk around with guilt. Here’s the thing, we can’t respond to every request and so we often feel pushed into a corner emotionally and some just ignore it all to avoid the guilt. If you adopt this casual way of supporting cancer patients in need then you are doing a good thing and your psyche will less burdened. I actually try to practice this myself and I have cancer. πŸ™‚ On top of that, it’s just nice. πŸ˜€Β  You have no idea how nice it is when somebody supports you in the smallest of ways. It gives you strength and brightens your day. πŸ™‚Β  Best of all, it’s easy. Share & like, Retweet…we’ve all done it. πŸ˜€Β  As my son says, “Easy Peasy!”
