A Great Post on ChrisBeatCancer.com About Juicers and Juicing

I am on the hunt for a new juicer. My old one, a Juiceman Juicer, was great but, it’s getting old now and so juicing anything with fiber or a tough skin slows it down. Also, it’s not that easy to clean. I have to be honest, it really has been a workhorse but, as I said, it’s getting old now and I’ve decided to look for a new one.

My requirements are pretty easy. I want juice and I want the juicer to be easy to clean. I have been reading about the Gerson therapy and other juicing protocols and they all seemed to recommend a juicer that was super expensive (over $2,000) and did not spin but rather was a “masticating” juicer. Translation…it crushes or grinds the fruit. They were saying that the juicers that spin heat the juice and reduce the enzymes and the healing properties of the juice. They were also saying that the quality and quantity of the juicers were better. I have to be honest, I was really starting to worry about spending that kind of money on a juicer especially with my finances in the state that they are.

So, I was relieved to read “The truth about juicing & which juicer is best” by Chris Wark on his website, www.chrisbeatcancer.com Chris really demystifies the entire juicing world and makes some very practical suggestions in his article. Thank God! Here’s a quote to get you started.

“High-speed juicing creates heat that destroys the nutrients in juice”
Also not true. For the same reasons mentioned above. Enzyme activity is high in juices from all different types of juicing machines, some are a little higher than others. I used a high speed masticating juicer and I know lots of natural survivors who used high-speed and centrifugal juicers. Centrifugal juicers do tend to oxidize the juice a bit more, but this really only affects how long the juice will keep. If you are drinking it the same day it really doesn’t matter.

I highly suggest that you read the article to increase your understanding AND if you’re looking for a juicer what better way to start your hunt. Read More Here.

Happy Juicing,
Ed
