I just finished Chapter 5 of G. Edward Griffin’s book “World Without Cancer” and he discusses the trophoblast theory of cancer. The idea is that cancer is similar to embryonic cells that are triggered to grow and divide by estrogen. In case you did not know this, both men and women have estrogen. As you know, estrogen is part of the endocrine system. So, if you have carcinoid cancer or neuroendocrine cancer then this should make your ears perk up. You can read my review and summary of the chapter here. This chapter is making me wonder. Is cancer is triggered by plastics? You can also watch a short video about the trophoblast theory here.
Is Cancer Triggered by Plastics
Here’s the thing that has me scratching my head at the seemingly connected patterns between this theory and neuroendocrine cancer. Forgive me if I am making connections that may not be there but, I’m wondering if my neuroendocrine cancer was triggered by BPA and other endocrine disrupting chemicals? In fact, I’m wondering if cancer is triggered by plastics.
What makes this chapter interesting is that the author shows how cancer seems to be triggered by estrogen. BPA mimics estrogen in the body. You can read a previous post that I’ve written about it here. At a bare minimum, I think it’s worth ridding our diets of BPA and other plastics where we can. Yes, other plastics. Read this.
In a study published in the NIH journal Environmental Health Perspectives, researchers at the University of Texas-Austin 455 store-bought food containers and storage products and determined that “almost all” plastics that were tested leached synthetic estrogens…. Read More
It may not be something that we can prove as cancer patients but, I am convinced that buying products stored in plastic and keeping foods stored in plastics are unhealthy choices. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that my cancer was triggered by BPA and other plastics. I live in an area where cancer is very common and so I started drinking bottled water to stay healthier. I’ve been drinking gallons of bottled water a week for over a decade. Now, can you imagine if this is the reason that I now have cancer along with so many others? How horrible would it be that the very thing people are using to try and stay healthy is the very thing causing our cancer.
I will be looking into these endocrine disrupting chemicals further but for now I’m moving away from plastics toward glass containers as much as possible. I will also be looking into detoxing my endocrine system.
