Warning to Neuroendocrine and Carcinoid Patients, BPA is an Endocrine Disruptor

I have been diagnosed for a while now and I feel like I haven’t gotten any clear explanation of what disease I really have. No clear medical direction. A lot of verbal medical mumbo jumbo spoken in doctor’s offices but not even a single clear pamphlet. So…..I am trying to focus my attention on researching exactly what disease I have and what this means to me.

I have found out that carcinoid and neuroendocrine tumors are a subset of endocrine tumors/cancers. So, as I see it, the endocrine system must be very important. Any how, as part of my continued focus on getting healthy, and fighting my cancer, I came across the fact that BPA is an endocrine disruptor. Do you know what that means?  I didn’t. That’s why I’m posting a warning to neuroendocrine and carcinoid patients on the dangers of BPA and other endocrine disruptors.

It’s all About the Endocrine System.

First, I am realizing that I haven’t seen a clear description contrasting the difference between neuroendocrine tumors and carcinoids and for that matter other endocrine cancers. In addition, how are they the same? I’m also realizing that there is no clear guidance as to what this means to me regarding my cancer and how I should change my behavior.  I feel like I have been flying blind…drinking juice….eliminating meat and animal proteins….eating more fruit and veggies…getting shots of Sandostatin…(and now they’ve stopped after only 2 shots) and they want me to have chemo. What is going on?

I’m sure eating better makes me healthier but, how does it affect my cancer? I’m starting to feel that I am in the middle of a guessing game. So, why the warning to neuroendocrine and carcinoid patients? Because…..I think I have been misdirected. I don’t think the misdirection is intentional but, I don’t see any information on “detoxing” your endocrine system or “nutrition” for the endocrine system. In fact, it has never even been mentioned and I haven’t been directed to any literature at all. It seems that until recently all anyone wanted to do was inject me with Sandostatin and rush me out of the office.

I have decided to try to take a back some control by educating myself. In that light, here’s a bit of general information and good link to get started learning about endocrine tumors and cancers.

An endocrine tumor is a growth that affects the parts of the body that secrete hormones. Because an endocrine tumor starts in the cells that make hormones, the tumor itself can make hormones and cause serious illness. ~  http://www.cancer.net/cancer-types/endocrine-tumor

There are several types of endocrine tumors including Adrenal gland tumors (adenomas and adrenocortical carcinoma), Carcinoid tumors (lung and gastrointestinal carcinoid tumors), Islet cell tumor (gastrinoma, insulinoma, glucagonoma, VIPoma, somatostatinoma, and nonfunctioning tumors), Neuroendocrine tumor (Merkel cell cancer, pheochromocytoma, and neuroendocrine carcinoma), Parathyroid tumor, Pituitary gland tumor, Thyroid cancer.

BPA is an Endocrine Disruptor

Do you know what an endocrine disruptor is? I know I don’t. Don’t you think we should and should be educated as endocrine cancer patients? I do. So, here’s what I’ve found so far.

An endocrine disruptor is a substance that alters the function of the endocrine system and consequently causes adverse health effects in an intact organism. It is generally understood that the definition of endocrine disruption encompasses both the endocrine mechanism of action and adverse health effects. ~ http://www.americanchemistry.com/Policy/Chemical-Safety/Endocrine-Disruption?gclid=CMbKieasoLoCFQpnOgodqFkAXw

Here’s a good video explaining the dangers of BPA and how pervasive it is.

Are you horrified? I am…and guess what? BPA is just one of many endocrine disruptors. I will be doing a lot more research on the endocrine system, endocrine disruptors and, I hope, turning things around for me and you.

As I learn more, I will post it here. Also, you can view an infographic that I made on the subject by clicking here.

  1. Ed, you should look into MMS. Here’s a link about it: http://www.cleansehelp.com/cleanse-detox-blog/lunch-with-jim-humble/.

Also, here’s where it tells “how” to use it (it’s disguised under a name called Genesis 2 Church; it’s not a church at all, just so you know): http://genesis2church.org/mms-protocol-read-this-first.html.

Here’s where you can buy it. It’s really cheap: http://www.keavyscorner.com/Default.asp

This stuff is supposed to detox your body, and if your cancer is caused by BPA or something like that, maybe this will help.

Read up on it. It’s called MMS (Master/Miracle Mineral Solution). I’ve heard of this curing people of cancer, so who knows. It can’t hurt to try it. Just follow the directions carefully.

    • Ed, I finally found time to read all this. All I can say is, “Wow.” I honestly don’t know what to think or believe. I won’t be taking it, though. I bought it for myself to take for all the radiation I’ve had put in me, but now I’m uneasy about it. I’ve had it for a while, but it says not to take with Vitamin C. Well, I have oranges and lemons nearly every morning in my smoothies, so I could never take the MMS. Now I’m thinking that may have been a good thing. Who knows? Anyway, thank you for your research and sharing what you’ve found.

      • Yeah, it doesn’t seem to be legit. as far as I can tell. Glad to share! 🙂 Healthwyze seems like a really good source for information. I’m beginning my search for a naturopath. (Is that the right term?)

    • Hi, nice to meet you Erika. Well, physically it’s touch and go. Sometimes I feel pretty good and other times not so good. Mentally, it’s been a bit tough lately. I feel like I am caught in a medical system that has written me off. It gets to me sometimes. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fighter. Do you have a blog? I’m trying to make a list of all of the blogs out there related to carcinoid cancer. It’s under the links page at the top of the menu. How are you doing? 🙂

  5. Hi Ed, I don’t have a blog. I’m just a daughter trying to help her father. I have started him on Plexus (a wellness program that boosts your GI tract and immune system.) 2 weeks ago and he has gained 2 pounds and his blood pressure is lower. The doctors do not have any drugs to successfully treat him so we are trying some alternative strategies. He has changed his diet so he eats less meat, less carbs, more fruit and he will get his first organic coffee enema this Wed. To clean out his GI tract. We are also starting the MMA treatment this week. I know you don’t believe it works but I used to take it years ago (2008) and didn’t have any issues with it. I will let you know how it goes. You should look up Soul Tender on FB. She’s a nutritionist who healed her own breast cancer through holistic means and now helps others to heal their cancer. She recommended jumping on a trampoline for 10 minutes in the AM and PM to clean out your lymphnodes and stimulate them into working to clear toxins out of your body. Sending you healing thoughts!!!

  6. You should also get yourself a good organic Fulvic Acid because our fruits n veg do not have as many vitamins and nutrients as they used to. Also avoid GMO foods. I try to only buy from Whole Foods because they are completely non-GMO.

  7. We just started the protocol yesterday. I am doing it alongside my Dad as a parasitic cleanse (which you are supposed to do once or twice a year anyway.). Tmro we go for a coffee enema to detox his liver. Patients have said that is their favorite step of fighting cancer cuz they feel amazing afterward. I’m in the middle of watching Quest for the cure…continues. It’s an 11 part Documentary that talks with cancer experts about alternative ways to heal cure cNcer. I highly recommend it.

    • You are a good person Erika.
I got a little choked up reading your comments. 🙂
When people are so caring it always touches my heart.

Right now, I’m researching DCA. I wrote a short post on it here http://www.carcinoid-cancer.com/metabolic-therapy-to-fight-cancer-and-dca/

It seems that it might work on neuroendocrine cancer and maybe carcinoid cancer. There is a white paper linked about the clinical study. Any how, I’m looking into it because it is the latest rabbit to run across my trail. 🙂

  8. Also, are you taking iodine? Cells can’t properly fight cancer if they are deficient in iodine and most cancer victims are highly deficient. We are buying an iodine supplement today for Dad. Docs recommend 10-20 milligrams (not micrograms) of iodine.

  9. You can do a patch test if you buy iodine tincture (don’t swallow this stuff). Just google it. Doctors can also test for it but it will cost more. Have you detoxed your organs? Are you taking pancreatic enzymes?

    • I was taking pancreatic enzymes. I stopped because it was part of the B17 protocol. It didn’t work for me. Is there a benefit to taking them ?

  10. Go to the hoxsey clinic in tiawana Mexico and you can be cured look it up when you go stay at the best Western Americana they will take you their and back

  11. Please watch the truth about cancer a global conquest by Ty Bollinger it’s on right now on YouTube today’s date is 519 2017 please start to watch each episode it is really unreal not even an oncologist know this stuff or tell you I don’t know which

  12. Good morning Ed! Fellow NET cancer patient here, as you probably know. I have long suspected BPA as the cause for our cancers. For about ten years, perhaps a few more, I consumed on average five or six 20 ounce bottles of soda pop, in plastic bottles, daily, before I was diagnosed. Perhaps someday BPA will be proven to be our villan.
