Strawberry Banana Anticancer Smoothie

OK, I’ve been trying to get my cancer fight back on track and, to be honest, I’ve been struggling. We’re in a new house, stuff is still in boxes, the holidays are here and it’s been rough. So, I decided to make it easy on myself. I made ice cream! Well, not exactly. I made a super thick strawberry banana anticancer smoothie. It’s sooooo gooooood!!!! 🙂  It’s sweet and tasty and you need a spoon to eat it. So here’s the recipe and, below the recipe, the reason it is an anticancer smoothie.

Strawberry Banana Anticancer Smoothie (recipe)

Recipe:

10 oz. – Organic Frozen Strawberries
1 and 1/2 Cups – Unsweetened Almond Milk (or the liquid of your choice)
1 – Banana
1 – Vanilla Bean (next time….I didn’t put it in this time)

Take the frozen berries and whiz them up in your blender or food processor with the almond milk. You should have a slushy, gushy strawberry smoothie already. Don’t stop here! Add the banana and whiz it up too and, if you’re brave, add the inside of one vanilla bean. Yum! Hit the whizzer and dump it in a giant iced tea glass. Take a taste, roll your eyes and enjoy. You have made your first strawberry banana anticancer smoothie.  🙂  (Some people even throw in a handful of spinach.)

In case you didn’t notice, the first item in the recipe is Organic Frozen Strawberries. The most important thing is the organic part if we are talking about fighting cancer and health in general. If you haven’t heard of the dirty dozen then this is the time to pay attention. The dirty dozen are the most pesticide ridden foods people typically purchase and strawberries are on the list.  You have to admit, this is much better than a ham sandwich or, God forbid, a big mac. This is my lunch because I don’t like a cold drink in the morning. Brrrr…..no…I need warm, bland drinks in the morning but you can do it. 🙂  This is my lunch and soon I will expand my smallest effort to get back on track with my cancer fight and, of course, I will keep you posted.

  1. Try cutting your bananas into chunks and freezing them. Gives you the thick ice cream feel also. Then you don’t have to use frozen berries unless you want to.
